Getting to Columbia University
Columbia University is easily accessible through public transportation and private cars.
Public Transportation
Metro cards for the New York City subway and buses can be purchased at any subway station at the counter or ticketing machines (cash and card accepted). The metro card can be used for both buses the subway, except for the M60-SBS bus line.
Tickets to ride the M60-SBS bus must be purchased at any of the M60-SBS bus stops. More information about the M60-SBS line can be found here: https://bustime.mta.info/m/?q=M60-SBS.
Columbia University is situated along the 1 (red) subway line at the 116th Street and Broadway subway station. All recommended hotels are situated along the 1 line, except for Aloft Harlem.
For those living at Aloft Harlem, you can take the M60-SBS bus to the 116th Street and Broadway Bus station. Alternatively, the walk between Aloft Harlem and Columbia University is only 15 to 20 minutes, with the option of walking along/through the scenic Morningside Park.
Buses and trains run throughout New York every few minutes all day.

Taxi and Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.)
Taxis and rideshares are readily available throughout New York and at the three major airports (John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia) at all hours.

If you are arriving by car, you may park on the street or use one of the local parking garages. The following two parking garages are within a 5-10 minute walk from Davis Auditorium.

Getting to the Conference Venue
The main conference will be held in the Davis Auditorium in Schapiro CEPSR.
The Schapiro Center for Engineering and Physical Science Research (Schapiro CEPSR) is located at 530 West 120th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam. Davis Auditorium is on the 4th floor (campus level), room 412.
Entering from Campus
From the campus entrance (after arriving by subway or bus), walk in along College Walk, head north up the steps, go around Low Library and to the back of Uris Hall (the Business School). Davis Auditorium is on the 4th floor (campus level). Please refer to the map below for more information.

Entering from 120th Street
Entering the building from 120th Street, you will come through a set of iron gates. You can access the stairs or the elevator from the lobby. Davis Auditorium is on the 4th floor (campus level).Visa Related Information
ACM is able to provide visa support letters to attendees as well as authors with accepted papers, posters, or members of the conference committee.
If you need a VISA to enter the USA, refer all requests to ACM (email: supportletters@acm.org) for a visa support letter. Please register the conference first and allow up to 10 business days to receive a letter. All requests are handled in the order they are received. The information below should be included with the request:
- Your name as it appears on your passport
- Your current postal mailing address
- The name of the conference you are registering for
- Your registration confirmation number
- If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please provide the title and indicate whether you are the “sole author” or a “co-author”
- Authors may indicate their paper title. If no paper, speakers can provide the title of their presentation
ACM does not provide letters for transport of vendor or presenter equipment. ACM suggests shipping the materials insured to the conference facility.
